First of all, I cannot believe it is already Tuesday night! This week is flying by... which is a good thing.


This weekend I had a huge list of things to "accomplish" for my spring cleaning tasks. None of which I got done.

The Highlight of my weekend though, was the Target Field open house!

Not going to lie, I walked into the park and I started to cry. It was amazing and beautiful. It was everything I thought it was going to be. But it was so much more. Growing up, I loved baseball. I went with my dad to almost every single baseball game that I could go too. I didn't want to play softball, I wanted to play baseball with the boys. However, the baseball strike in 1994 put a damper on the game and I could start to feel that passion slip away. The strike was followed by the baseball steroid era, which made it that much harder to get back into the game. Plus it was always hard to become a fan of the metrodome. Josh and I promised 5-10 years ago that if they ever got a new stadium, We would be there opening day. I've waited and that day is almost here. As we walked into the stadium, on that sneak peek premiere, I felt so much joy and relief. I felt like I was 8 again. That passion seemed to be back. I skipped through the concourse with Brody. We sat in every different section and I imagined a game being played. In great moments of my life, this is somewhere in the top 5. I am so lucky to have this opportunity.







To some, its just a game, but to me it was a childhood. To some, its just a building. But to me it was a long awaited and was an truly an amazing day. I hope to go to many games with my little man and make our own memories.

Of course we had another busy weekend!!

Someday, we might have a weekend where we just stay at home for more than a few hours... someday.

This Saturday I had an awesome time volunteering at Operation Glass Slipper. Operation Glass Slipper is a nonprofit organization that provides prom gowns and accessories at no charge locally to high school girls in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area whose financial circumstances make it impossible for them to purchase prom apparel. It was awesome helping these girls shop for their prom dress, shoes, jewelry, purses, etc.! All the girls that I helped were so sweet and they were so excited about their prom and not having to worry about the financial burden prom brings. I heard a story of one girl who worked a part time job. She was saving her money to buy her prom outfit. Her family had recently lost their home and they blew a tire driving. She had used her money she saving a bought the family a new tire. It would be hard to imagine life like that. I am thankful for so many things and I realize that not everyone is as lucky - but every one deserves a chance.

While I was doing that... Josh played in a hockey tournament and Brody spent the day with his grandma! They went to the zoo and target! Two of Brody's favorite places!! Josh's team ended up winning the tournament that played 2 games on Friday, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday! Brody and I watched the late Saturday evening game.

I think I might have little hockey player on my hands!


Sunday; Brody and I met Annie and Dominic at the Children's Museum! We played and had so much fun!! Although it was busy and hot, the boys didnt seem to mind and had a great time!





We had a wonderful weekend!!

Our Weekend!

My weekend started on....

~~Friday~~

Daycare was closed on Friday {darn! ;)} So Brody and I got to the zoo right as it opened!! Our first stop was the turtles. We sat and stared at the the tortoises for a good, long 10 minutes. We looked at all of the animals inside. Brody was loving the ducks and was much more into the animals than our last visit to the zoo. We watch the dolphin show and took the monorail train ride! After that we met daddy at work and had lunch!

That night we had dinner with the Sullivan's who also have a little boy 5 days younger than Brody. It was so much fun hanging out with them! Trading stories and laughs! Although many people in the restaurant were probably annoyed with the little guys for being loud. But we went to a loud restaurant and they are little! Oh well it happens. Just because you have a child doesn't mean you have to stay at home all day long! I think people just don't understand sometimes.

~~Saturday~~

I got up early and took a much needed yoga class! I hope to make that a Saturday morning tradition!

Brody and I worked on art projects. In lieu of spring we decided to paint flower pots! we are still working on the "don't eat the paint" part though. Don't worry, it was non-toxic finger paint :)

After painting ... we decided to go SWIMMING!! Last time Brody went he was probably about six months old. So its been a while since we went. But Brody LOVED it! We start swimming lessons in April so I thought it would be a nice idea to get him re-acquainted with the water..

~~Sunday~~

We went to church and i'm trying to get Brody to learn that he needs to sit still for 1 hour. So we tried to keep him occupied on our laps and let him know that he cannot run around. It was a stuggle, but I can't wait till we graduate from the "crying area" and can join the rest of the congregation!

Sunday afternoon I had lunch with my bestie and then we hung out at her house and looked at old pictures and laughed at ourselves! The "trouble" we used to get into and things we used to do! Loved it, Love her!

Well off to bed. Busy week ahead ..... at least its SPRING BREAK - NO CLASS!!! YIPPEEE

Random Acts of Kindness

I was listing to the morning talk radio show today and felt inspired. The following are random acts of kindness. I think we all could benefit from this. I hope do at least 2 of these and the kindness will trickle back to you. A kinder you = a kinder community and world.

• Give at least one sincere compliment a day and it doesn't have to be much. Tell someone they have a nice smile, or you like their shoes or you envy their patience. If you look for it, you can find something positive to say about anyone.
• If you buy something from a vending machine, leave the change in the change thingy for the next person. It's funny how someone finding an unexpected quarter makes their day.
• Make a bunch of small little notes that have positive messages like "Have a nice day!" or "Someone loves you" and hide them around a public area for random strangers to find. This is a good project for those who have kids.
• Overtip your waitress.
• Give an extra $5 when you pay for something (retail, fast food restaurant) and ask that they apply it to the next person in line.
• If you pack lunches for your loved one, stick a small note telling them to have a great day. Similarly, hide small love letters in your significant others pockets/bags/jackets.
• Clear the snow off a neighbor's car after a big snowfall.
• When you see a mom with a stroller going into a building - hold the door for her. She'll appreciate it more than you'll know!
• Send a random e-Card to someone you haven't talked to in a while for no special reason.
• Put an extra nickel, dime or quarter in a parking meter for someone.
• Leave flowers anonymously at a neighbors', May Day style.
• Make eye contact with people and smile.
• Wave when someone lets you merge on the road.
• Let someone who has five items at the grocery store go in front of you and your cart full of items.
• Pay the toll of the car driving behind you.
• Holiday season is a great time to recognize people who are underappreciated...leave some homemade goodies in your mailbox with a thank you note for your postal carrier.
• Buy a current bestseller and donate it to the local library.
• Give blood to the Red Cross.
• When a waitress or other service person has been exceptional, let their manager know.
• If you take walks around the neighborhood, bring along a bag and pick up trash as you go.
• During the holidays, bring some hot chocolate or coffee to the bell ringers who are standing outside in cold weather.
• Thank a co-worker or employee out of the blue for there hard work.
• Let someone turn left when the light turns green because there is a long line of traffic behind you.
• Give a child's old toys to a shelter every holiday season instead of trashing them.
• Buy a homeless person some water on a hot day.
• Let someone pregnant or older sit in your seat when none are available.
• Thank your spouse, significant other, roommate, mom, etc. whenever they prepare a meal for you. It shows great appreciation.
• When making dinner, double the recipe and deliver dinner to a neighbor.
• Offer your mail carrier, trash man or anyone else working out side on a hot day a bottle of water.
• When someone you come in contact with is doing a good job, tell them.

Some Brody News....

Brody is a picky eater!! 90% of what we give him lands on the floor! Our daycare lady says he eats pretty much everything she gives him. But we can't figure out what works at home and what the difference is between daycare and at home. We have made little progress though, but getting him over his fear of "healthy" foods has been a tough one! He is too much like him mom and dad!!

I may have been a little ahead of myself but I went through his closet and drawers tonight and pulled out some of the summer stuff and put away some of the winter clothes and the things he has out grown. So far I have 5 containers full of out grown clothes and 1 bag! He has gone through more clothes than me!! Its amazing how fast they grow out of everything! I constantly have to go through his closet to make sure I am rotating his clothes choices. I havent decided yet if I should hold onto it all or just some. At the rate im going by the time he is 2 i'll have 4 more bins!! I don't have room for that!

OFF to bed! Maybe I can keep up on this blog thing. ;)
